Sub: Application in response to study permit

Dear Sir/Madam,

I, Matthew Jones, thank you for allowing me to submit my earnest intention to visit Canada and for giving me a chance to state my purpose of visit. To have a successful career in the field of IT networks and infrastructure is my dream. I want to secure better career prospects back home which can be elevated if I study abroad. I have thus approached the renowned Conestoga College in Canada to fulfill my study pursuits and have rejoiced in the honor of receiving the Letter of Admission for pursuing Applied Network Infrastructure and System Administration in the February intake. I, therefore, am seeking a Canadian study permit to fulfill my dream of studying in Canada.

Purpose of Visit

As I aspire to become a successful networking professional, I also aim to study from an advanced study system where applied learning is given importance. I have always admired how computers are making a swift transition in everybody’s life in a very intricate manner. Having a keen interest in this branch of studies, I envision myself in a leading position after acquiring formal training from Conestoga College. Hence, I need to visit Canada and spend some quality education time in this country, where I am aspiring to learn intricate networking lessons. The Canadian study system is advanced and based on hi-tech innovation in my chosen field. This further enhances my interest level in approaching the Canadian High Commission for a visa grant based on many factors discussed below which have prompted me to choose Canada over any other English-speaking country.

Why Canada?

Canada is a country that consistently offers students a variety of opportunities to excel in their chosen fields. Additionally, it is one of the most affordable international education hubs for international students and it would suit my needs as well. It is more practical and offers more internship options in Canada than in my home country. Since the country is ranked seventh on the global peace index, I am confident I can contribute to such a place of peace and harmony as an international student. With English as the second most common language, accommodations can be envisioned as being linguistically comfortable. Colleges in Canada practice innovation, which encourages students to be more adept at technological advancements. Open learning is something I’m eager to experience.

Why not India:

Conestoga College provides me with high-end international exposure and the opportunity to study Applied Network Infrastructure and System Administration while studying abroad. This program, therefore, will be of greatest benefit to me. Indian education is more focused on conceptual learning which refrains from practical knowledge of the technical subjects. However, my chosen study program is highly technical, I want to gain practical learning exposure which is widely offered by the Canadian study system, and not ours. A successful career in IT would be possible by this education. With Canada’s quality curriculum and international exposure, studying there is a wiser decision. In my country, I could not find courses with the same focus as those offered at Conestoga College. Instead of continuing my education in India and missing out on global exposure, I would like to continue my education in Canada. My goal is to improve my career prospects at home when I begin my education at Conestoga College.

Why Applied Network Infrastructure and System Administration at Conestoga College?

Compared with similar courses offered in India, I believe the course offered by Conestoga College provides a more satisfying experience since a full-time course is deemed much more worthwhile.

I have thoroughly made decent comparisons among the multitudes of courses available in this domain at various Canadian Colleges. Fortunately, I landed the curriculum offering available through the Applied Network Infrastructure and System Administration available at Conestoga College. After a careful review, I found that this course has been developed with the trendiest technology to meet the market expectations. It offers students a solid competitive advantage and opens numerous career avenues for them. This course curriculum includes topics in Information Technology Service Management, Hardware and Software Solutions, Windows Server Installation, Networking Routers and Switches, Windows Server Planning, Exchange Server, Advanced Windows Server Roles and Services, IT Environmental Deployment, etc., which matches exactly with my career vision for the long-term. Hence, I strongly believe this course will elevate the scope of my career back home. Furthermore, the college’s uptake in offering equal learning opportunities is commendable. It offers qualitative faculty support and attention in the form of a lower student-to-teacher ratio. I am thus excited to begin my studies at this college which is also counted among the elite Canadian institutions involved in providing quality vocational training to a multitude of international students each year.

Academic and professional records

Since childhood, I have been trained to value education. Hence, my childhood was full of educational resources and examples. Moreover, having academically outperforming siblings always encouraged me to do more in my academics. Therefore, I passed my secondary school in 2010 with an overall percentage of 87.66%. Due to my impressive analytical skills and logical ability to solve arithmetic puzzles, I chose to pass my senior secondary school in the science stream with 77.4% in 2012. Post this, my fascination with computers led me to train myself in computer science by pursuing a bachelor’s degree in CE. However, as a complex shift from school to college life and following entirely different study patterns and styles of teaching, I faced little hardships that impacted my performance. As a result, I received 16 backlogs from semester 7 to 8. But as determined as I was to clear my graduation, I worked hard on each of my backlogs and cleared it before finally becoming a graduate. Due to my cousin serving the IT industry as a successful networking infrastructure manager, I got inspired to work in the field of networking management.  Through their experiences, advice, and suggestions, I found network management to be of great significance to my career in IT. Hence, I joined Monad Technologies as a technical support engineer where I learned to solve numerous network management issues for over a year. However, I had to switch my field for a short duration due to some family issue and then I worked with Unacademy as a business development associate while I kept developing my networking skills parallelly. Soon, I picked up an opportunity at the renowned MNC, HCL as a technical support engineer. Here I configured network settings, addressed connectivity issues, and optimized network performance. Throughout my professional, I learned to span tree protocols and routing each protocol to data across networks. To further progress into my choicest field, I began working at MacroHard in 2021 as a Service Desk Network System Administrator. Here I was majorly involved in migrating data centers and convert physical servers to virtual servers. I specifically learned to use VMware and HP blade servers. However, after working in the industry for so long, I find my academic and technical understanding limited to more of bookish knowledge and I want to expand my practical skills in networking management solely. But if I study in India, I would not be able to get practical insights as we are more of a theoretically inclined study system.

Reasons to return to India

I belong to a well-settled family in India that comprises my Parents and two sisters. My father is a successful businessman, and my mother is a homemaker. My sisters are still in college and I share a great deal of bonding with them. My family is my real inspiration to do something of great value. They have altogether motivated me to follow my dreams and passion and have supported me through every success and failure. I am full of gratitude towards my parents to whom I want to provide all the riches and comfort in life. I feel accountable towards my parents, and I aim to take full responsibility for their senior life. It is my responsibility as an elder brother to help my sisters become independent and find the right groom for them. Hence, I will return home to take care of them. Considering my family ties in Canada, I do not intend to stay in the country, especially because I have taken responsibility for managing all assets and my family heritage. I need to return home to materialize my plans to shoulder my parents in their old age while also taking care of our voluminous assets.

Language abilities

I have obtained schooling from schools where English was a strict medium of instruction. However, to fulfill the language criteria, I have taken the IELTS examination with the highest band score of 7.0 (Listening – 6.5, Reading – 7.0, Writing – 6.0, and Speaking – 7.5). My IELTS scorecard has been enclosed herewith for your kind perusal.

Financial ability

I come from an established family and my parents have enough funds to support my studies. We have immovable properties worth up to CAD 14,32,190 and movable assets of CAD 87,543. Also, my mother receives an annual remuneration equivalent to CAD 17,360 from the rent of our commercial properties. My family’s financial details are attached herewith. Since my family has extended earnest support in funding my education, I have also paid the full tuition fee of CAD <add> and deposited CAD <add> into my GIC account. Also, I have applied for an education loan from <Add> to have an upper hand in funds. Moreover, my family has willingly agreed to assist me if I incur any financial requirements during my time in Canada. Please find a proof of payment enclosed herewith.

Future plans

Looking at the way India is progressing rapidly in its IT network and foreseeing a lucrative career ahead, I am ardent to return to India after accomplishing my study goals in Canada. My short-term goal includes gaining hands-on practical exposure to networking and management through a qualitative study program. Studying at Conestoga College will complement my short-term career goals as it will help me gain access to applied learning. I will return home after the completion of my study program and seek opportunities in companies like Wipro, Intel, HP, Google, Amazon, Adobe, etc. With my qualifications, I am sure I can find opportunities for me in my chosen domain. It is more conducive for me to pursue a career around my family ties and gain considerable progression. I aim to position myself as a leading IT Network Infrastructure manager to render mutually beneficial services for small organizations independently. Eventually, I would consider seeking vertical expansion in my career through appropriate training and skill development.

Conclusion

I intend to represent myself as a law-abiding citizen in Canada. Based on my knowledge of the Canadian Immigration Rules, I confirm that I will act per these privileges and permissions. I will not become a liability to Canada, instead contributing to its diversity through my responsible behavior. My sole objective is to study in Canada, and I am looking forward to taking advantage of every opportunity without violating country law. As a result, I would request you to consider me a legitimate temporary international student in Canada, so I can achieve my career objectives.

Yours Faithfully,

Matthew Jones
