Subject: Application requesting a visitor visa for Canada

Respected Sir/Madam

I, hereby introduce myself as Karan Tandon (Passport No.-), a 26-year-old Indian national residing in Gurgaon, Haryana. I am writing this application to request a valid tourist visa for Canada. The dual purpose of this visit is to attend my sister’s convocation ceremony which is scheduled for 4th November 2025 as well as enjoy my time in Canada as a tourist along with my sister who is living there on a student visa. The duration of my trip is 15 days precisely (1st November 2025 to 15th November 2025). Here, in this application, I have detailed my intention to seek a tourist visa by explaining the worth of this permit for me. Kindly consider it.

Purpose of Visit

My younger sister Kiara Tandon and I are like two peas in a pod. Since childhood, our bond was as thick as thieves as we have always shared similar viewpoints, interests in food, clothing, and even light-hearted mischief. Our parents raised both of us with strong familial values and encouraged us to learn how to build our trust in each other. My mother’s words ‘There will be no better friend to you than your sister’ are set like stone in my heart. Being the elder one, I willingly took on the responsibility of helping Kiara with her studies, encouraging & preparing her for extra-curricular activities, guiding & advising her on several personal decisions, and many other such things. As we grew older, it was evident that we both shared an interdependent relationship and relied on each other for our emotional and mental health. However, as part of her higher studies, Kiara had to move to Canada in 2024 temporarily. Our family was overjoyed when through her hard work and dedication, she secured admission into Russell’s Institute of Technology’s Forensic Science study program. Personally, I was very proud of her achievements and was glad that she was putting in serious efforts towards a successful professional life.

For us, distance literally made our hearts grow fonder and we would both find time from our busy schedules to keep in touch with each other and stay updated about one another’s life. Now, the time of my sister’s convocation ceremony will be arriving soon and my entire family is excited to see her graduate. As is the tradition, my sister expects to have her family besides her on this once-in-a-lifetime special occasion. However, it is unfortunate that due to certain health issues of both my parents, they are not healthy enough to bear the stress and exhaustion of an international trip. Thus, we have decided that instead of them, I will be traveling to Canada to be with my sister on her special day and see her achieve a qualification for which she has worked so hard. Simultaneously, Kiara has requested me to take some time off from my professional life and spend a few days holidaying with her in Canada.

Travel Details and Activity Plan

From my perspective, a period of 15 days is more than enough time for a vacation in Canada and joining my sister in her celebration. My travel dates are finalized from 1st November 2025 to 15th November 2025. It is like an icing on the cake that my sister is currently based in the extraordinarily beautiful and thriving province of Ontario where there are unlimited recreational activities. I will help my sister prep for his big day by helping him arrange the things that he will need. He has promised to take me to popular food joints, a trip to the vibrant local markets, gardens, and a hike alongside the popular Niagara Glen Trail so as to first-hand experience the jaw-dropping natural beauty of Canada. I will surely request him to take me to popular tourist attractions as well such as Niagara Falls, Banff Mountains, Royal Ontario Museum, Bay of Fundy, and Ripley’s Aquarium. Since we both are sports and adventure enthusiasts, we will surely participate in some action-filled activities like zip lining, open-top jet boat tours, canoeing, mountain biking, etc. Other than this, our motive is to spend quality time with each other and relish the memories of our childhood by cooking & eating our traditional Indian food, playing chess, watching movies, relaxing, and making some clips to show to our parents after my return.

For the entire duration of my short stay in Canada, I will be staying at my sister’s residence at 125 A Street, Carlson Apartments, in Ontario.

Financial Strength

My trip to Canada is being sponsored by myself. In my current position as a Senior Executive Manager at Xavier’s Infotech Ltd. I earn an annual income of INR 50,00,000. With this application, I have attached my net worth certificate which will show that I have INR 70,00,000. (CAD 117,144.93) in my savings account and fixed deposits. Along with my father and grandmother, I am the holder of several movable and immovable assets that are worth INR 15,00,000 (CAD 25,099.84) and INR 20,00,000 (CAD 33,466.46). My total assets thus arrive at INR 30,00,000 (CAD 50,199.69). I assure you that I belong to an affluent family and am absolutely capable of affording an international trip to Canada. I claim that I will not be a financial liability to the government of Canada under any situation whatsoever.

Motivation To Return To India

Factors that ensure my return to India are my family and professional responsibilities. As I already mentioned, my parents have certain health conditions because of which they require constant love, care, and attention. Being the elder son, it is my duty to look after them and shower them with the affection with which they have raised me. I have no intention of staying back in Canada as my parents and their well-being is my foremost priority and I can ensure it only by living with them. I understand that they will be eagerly awaiting my return and I too will be yearning to reunite with them after my holiday and meet up with my brother.

Secondly, I am an employee of a reputed MNC and work in the coveted position of Senior Executive Manager. Several other employees report to me for their work as well as expect my guidance. Moreover, I have a fairly good relationship with my seniors who value my contribution to the company. I have shared the ‘leave approval letter’ from my company which will show that I am expected to return to my responsibilities after my holiday in Canada. I greatly value my work and will never do anything that will bring down my reputation in the eyes of my colleagues or employers.

Conclusion

Before ending my application letter, I restate that the purpose of my visit to Canada is to attend my sister’s convocation ceremony and holiday with her in Canada. It has been one year since I met her and we are both longing to spend some time with each other as a family again and create memories that we will cherish for a lifetime. As a tourist, I will follow all the rules and regulations set for an international in Canada. With all my heart, I thank you for your time and consideration of this application and hope that you will grant me the tourist visa that I so ardently wish for.

Sincerely

Karan Tandon
