Subject: Application requesting a Schengen visitor visa for Iceland

Respected Sir/Madam

Greetings! I, hereby, introduce myself as Ruhee Kapoor an Indian national living in the state of Karnataka. By profession, I am working as a Senior Relationship Manager with a private company in Bengaluru. I am a budding traveler who has visited a few countries and is eager to add to my travel experiences. For my birthday in June this year, I have decided to take a vacation to the land of fire and ice- Iceland for 8 days. To be precise, my travel dates are from 21st June 2025 to 28th June 2025. I am writing this application to request the Icelandic Immigration authorities to grant me a visitor visa that allows me to holiday in the country for the said duration. Here, I have presented details concerning my purpose as well as my personal and professional life for your reference. 

Purpose of Visit

In school, whenever a teacher would talk about different countries around the world, or discuss their culture, people, history, and perspectives; my will to see these unique parts of the world would grow stronger. As the internet and technology seeped into our everyday lives, I would often spend my time searching for places that I could add to my travel bucket list. Europe has always been a dream destination but one country that fascinated me to a great extent was Iceland. Its larger-than-life shots in the movies would always leave me in awe of it. The country’s unique infrastructure, colors of the landscape, indescribably beautiful northern lights, tourism-friendly places, and welcoming natives of the country were factors that contributed to my dream of visiting the country at least once in my lifetime. Over the years, I was engaged with my academic commitments and later built a fruitful professional life. Now that I find myself stable in my personal and professional life, I believe that this will be the apt time to take a vacation to the country that I so admire. With this vacation, my purpose is to rejuvenate myself and have some time off from the monotonicity of everyday life. 

Travel Details and Activity Plan

The very idea of celebration has excited me since childhood. I would especially look forward to my birthdays as they would mean a time of fun and laughter which made me feel special. So when I had to finalize my travel dates, I felt that there could be no better occasion than my birthday on 23rd June 2025. To ensure a proper adventure, I planned a six-day trip from 22nd June 2025 to 27th June 2025. During this period, my priority will be to visit all popular tourist attractions like Blue Lagoon, Golden Circle, Sun Voyager, Hallgrimskirkja, etc. An additional reason that encourages me to visit Iceland is that I am an enthusiast of natural beauty and wonders. The country’s Thingvellir National Park, magnificent waterfalls, the colors of northern lights, lava show, and aquatic beauty are some marvels that are greatly distinct from what I have seen in my home country. Moreover, I will take a bus tour in Reykjavik and see around the city. I wish to explore the country’s local markets, and cuisines as well as develop my knowledge by learning more and more about the places that I will be visiting. I must inform you that I have already booked my accommodation. I will be staying at three different residences: Gerloczy Boutique Hote, My-Next Hotel Leo, and Hotel Crown Plaza Bratislava. I have attached the documents showing my booking details along with this application. 

Financial Details

All expenses of my short excursion including travel fare, accommodation, tourist activities, or shopping will be covered by myself. I am a Senior Relationship Manager at Ultrapower Infotech. and have been working with them since February 2018. While my initial salary in this position was INR 20,000, after increment, I earn a monthly income of CTC 4,00,000 (after deductions). I have my savings that are worth INR 20,00,000 (€ 22,510.62). I assure you that I belong to a financially stable family and have always enjoyed a comfortable lifestyle with several luxuries. My mother Ms. Shalini Kappor, is the owner of a boutique called NoorJehan Designs and my younger sister is pursuing a master’s in Canada. Our current annual income is INR 80,00,000 (€ 90,041.52). We own properties that are worth INR 2,00,00,000 (€ 2,25,070.80). I have attached my relevant financial documents such as bank statements and ITRs. Moreover, I have an international travel history of visiting countries like Singapore, Malaysia (for work purposes), and Sri Lanka. I am capable of managing all expected and unexpected expenditures of this trip. I will not be a financial liability to the government of Iceland under any circumstances. 

Incentives to Return Home

The factors that guarantee my return to India are my familial relations and work commitments. Since my younger sister is away for studies in Canada, the responsibility to oversee the well-being of my mother falls on me. We are a small close-knit family where I have been raised with appropriate love and care. While my mother is financially sufficient, I have no reason whatsoever to leave her feeling alone or lonely for an extended period of time. We are each other’s confidants and strongest pillars of support and rely on each other for our emotional and mental happiness. While she has motivated me to take this holiday and enjoy the occasion of my birthday to the fullest, she will be avidly waiting to reunite with me so that we can have a celebration together as well. 

Being employed in a senior managerial position at my company, I have a decent reputation where my seniors admire my work, and colleagues and juniors look up to me. I am responsible for overseeing the everyday operations such as managing budgets, and everyday tasks, supervising employees, etc. I have already been permitted a leave of absence for my vacation and am expected to return to my role on (date of joining back) so that our work is not hampered. 

I conclude my application letter by stating that the sole purpose of my visit to Iceland is tourism. Iceland is a one-of-a-kind country that lets tourists like me have an experience that is worth cherishing for a lifetime. A vacation of this kind will help me rejuvenate myself and then return to my responsibilities back home with a fresh mind and energy. I thus, wholeheartedly thank the visa officer for their kind attention to this application and ardently hope that they will grant me a visitor visa! I will forever be grateful to you for this opportunity.
