Subject: Application requesting a visitor visa for France after refusal

Respected Sir/Madam

I, hereby introduce myself as Santos Wilfredo, a citizen of the Philippines bearing passport number GH78265379. I am writing this application letter in support of my visitor visa request for a Schengen Visa. The purpose of my trip is to enjoy a vacation in two of the most beautiful countries of the world, France and Amsterdam. I request you to grant me a permit to tour these countries for a precise period of 8 days (8 September 2024- 15 September 2024). The sole purpose of my visit is to enjoy this part of Europe as a tourist. Being an enthusiastic traveler who has visited several countries around the world hitherto, The opportunity to tour France and Amsterdam is sure to be my most cherished travel.

I would like to inform you that I applied for a similar visa previously as well. It was denied on 07-16-24 for the following reasons-

  • The information communicated to justify the purpose and conditions of the planned stay is not reliable.

My Purpose of Visiting France

I once came across a quote that read “Fill your life with experiences, not things. Have stories to tell, not stuff to show”. This thought almost accurately defines the way I like to enjoy my life. I am a single, hard-working man who runs my business in my lovely hometown Pasig. Every now and then, I don the hat of a passionate traveler who travels and explores places and countries. Before the advent of COVID-19, I had the pleasure of visiting popular countries like Singapore, Malaysia, Hong Kong, China, Taiwan, and Japan. Being a solo traveler, I have been able to enjoy and explore all that fascinated me. Traveling within Asia on my own has made me realize the preciousness of my ‘me-time’; all while learning about a new place and culture. It has also built in me the confidence to explore a different part of the world and widen the range of my travel adventures. Lately, I have been getting the feeling that in the last four years, I have not had the chance to go on a holiday all by myself. The only way to overcome my professional fatigue and make a change from the monotonousity of everyday life was to prepare myself for another big travel adventure. This time, I decided to travel to Europe as I had heard a great deal about it on social media, TV, and from some friends who had already visited the place. As I surfed the internet to come to a decision, France and the Netherlands frequently topped the results for best tourist destinations. Since childhood, I had heard about the great Eiffel Tower, the historical monuments, and the infrastructure of France. Similarly, the positive reviews about Amsterdam’s museums, canals, and jaw-dropping yet tranquil natural beauty convinced me to make these two countries my tourism destination.

Travel Details And Activity Plan For The Trip

When I applied for a visitor visa earlier, I had finalized the travel dates as 12-08-24 to 19-08-24. After my visa denial, I have decided to change my travel dates from 8 September 2024 to 15 September 2024 due to some customer obligations. My excitement has led me to plan the specifications of the trip beforehand. While in Paris, I will be visiting the popular tourist hotspots Eiffel Tower, Notre-Dame Cathedral, The Palace of Versailles, museums & gardens, etc. An experience that I am particularly looking forward to is having a luxurious cruise dinner on the river Seine. As I look forward to these peaceful moments, I also await some active tourism and thus plan on hiring a guide who can show me around the place as well as enhance my knowledge about the history and culture of this magnificent country. Indeed, food is the best way to delve into the true essence of a place. I am nothing but eager to enjoy the local cuisine of France, particularly desserts and other bakery items. After spending 6 days in Paris, I will take a flight to Amsterdam and have plans to explore the country on foot so as to witness the exquisite natural landscapes and canals. I will see the colorful dancing houses and roam the Fairy Tale village of Giethoorn. I hope to make time to visit the local markets and buy some souvenirs for myself and my family. From 8-13 September 2024, I will be accommodated at the lovely Hotel Margot, Paris. In Amsterdam, I will be living in Ibis Amsterdam Centre for 2 days.

Financial Strength To Take This Vacation

The expenses of my trip will be taken care of by myself. I own a salon called ‘Style Sanctuary’ and provide my services as a beautician. I also make house calls as it is financially favorable. I started this business in 2021 and have a strong customer base today. My work allows me to make a monthly profit of Philippine Peso 1,34,000- 2,50,000. I have a savings account that has Peso 5,00,000. I will be using this amount to cover the expenses of my trip. My family and I also own properties whose value can be estimated at Peso 3,50,00,000. I assure the visa officer that I am financially capable of taking care of all expected and unexpected expenditures pertaining to travel fare, accommodation, meals, and shopping. Kindly find a detailed itinerary of my trip at the end of this application.

Motivation To Return To the Philipines

I would like to share that I have both personal and professional motivation to return to my country Philipines after the stated period of my trip is over. In the Philippines, I live with my elderly parents and a niece. My family is my support system and helps me manage various aspects of my life. My parents raised me as a pampered child and showered me with all the love and care in the world. As I grew, I took on the responsibility of looking after my family. Currently, I am the sole breadwinner and am responsible for providing for my family financially as well as emotionally. The reason for which my niece (brother’s daughter) lives with us is that I have adopted her legally. Her parents have split and do not live together anymore. Due to their incapability to raise her, I took the responsibility of this child and raised her as my own. I take care of her education and provide for her to the best of my ability. Gradually, I have grown extremely fond of her. She is the light of my life and I look forward to seeing her grow every day. We are a small yet close-knit family who are dependent on each other. While my family will be eagerly awaiting my return, I too will be excited to share the experiences and stories of my trip after reuniting with them.

Another reason that propels me to return to my homeland is my professional life which is quite demanding and busy. The Philippines is a tourist hotspot itself and I have several national and international customers who like to enjoy beauty services in the Philippines. I am fortunate to have a flourishing business that allows me and my family to enjoy a comfortable lifestyle. My dedication to my work as well as my dear family are strong motivations for me to return to the Philippines.

Conclusion

My excursion to France and Amsterdam is a gift that I wish to give to myself. I take pride in the familial and professional responsibilities that I manage and am committed to performing my duties most finely. This trip is an opportunity for me to relax as well as rejuvenate myself and enjoy the self-credit of performing my work efficiently. Traveling, exploring new places, and interacting with people of different origins and cultures are things in which I find solace. With this vacation, I plan on making memories that I will cherish for the rest of my life. In all my humbleness, I request you to kindly find me worthy of receiving the Schengen Visa so that I can fulfill my travel dreams. I genuinely hope that I have justified the refusal reason of my previous visa request. With all my heart, I thank you for taking the time to read and consider my application as I eagerly await a positive response.

Kindly find attached the itinerary for my trip below.

Sincerely

Santos Wilfredo
