Sub. Application requesting a tourist visa for South Korea after refusal

Respected Sir/Madam

Introduction

I, Reena Chauhan, introduce myself as an Indian citizen with Passport number AOU11546. I am a businesswoman who has decided to go on a holiday to the beautiful country of South Korea. I am writing this application to request you to grant me a tourist visa for the precise period of 8 days. Here, I have explained my intention to visit the country, activity plan, funds, and other relevant details to prove my worth as a genuine applicant. Today, South Korea is one the most sought-after tourist destinations in the world and I too ardently wish to experience its charm and beauty. Unfortunately, my previous visa request for the same intention was refused on the following grounds-

  • Your purpose of entry has not been explained in detail.
  • Your current status (family and economic conditions) does not prove your return within the given period of stay.

In this statement letter, I have attempted to justify these points as best as possible.

Purpose of My Visit

The idea of traveling the world has fascinated me since I was a teen. Often, I would search for places and adventure activities that were different from my home country. I would wonder how it would feel to explore a new culture and meet people with different perspectives and outlooks towards life. In January 2019, I got my first chance to take an international trip to Singapore. I was thoroughly delighted with the vibrant environment of the country and made memories that I would remember for a lifetime. My other adventurous journey was to Egypt in April 2023 and it was as mesmerizing as I had expected it to be. To continue with my travel adventures and become an avid traveler, I have decided to go on a holiday again. Now that my daughter is 13 years old and is not entirely dependent upon me, I feel that this is the appropriate time to begin my solo journey. This trip will be a much-desired rejuvenating time for me and will come with a chance to build my self-confidence, enjoy some personal time, expand my mental horizons by learning new things, and enrich my mind with new experiences.

Choosing South Korea

I did not have to ponder much about my tourist destination as for the last few years, I have been making up my mind to visit South Korea. I religiously follow popular K-dramas and always find myself engaged with the traditions people follow, a unique culture, a variety of food, beautiful scenic landscapes all around, and an attractive lifestyle. By watching these dramas, I became curious about South Korea as a country and would research about it in my free time. I came across pictures of beautiful islands & beaches, historical monuments like Gyeongbokgung Palace, attractive shopping streets that sold exquisite beauty products & delicious food, theme parks, world-standard malls, etc. Every time I would learn about this country, my excitement to visit it would grow significantly. I am certain that I have made the right decision to holiday in South Korea as the country greatly appeals to my personality.

Travel Details and Activities Planned

Keeping my work schedule in mind, I have decided that I will be touring South Korea from 30 July 2024 to 6 August 2024. In the 10 days that I will be spending in the country, I will try to make the most of my time and have thus developed a detailed itinerary for the same. In this action plan, my primary visit will be to Hongdae (a popular spot for shooting K-Dramas), an entire day for Lotte World, breakfast/lunch/dinner at popular eateries, stroll on Gwangalli Beach, explore markets & parks, wander around in Seoul and several other things. At the end of this application, I have attached a proper itinerary for your reference.  During my holiday, I will be accommodated at Jinsim House in Hongdae.

Financial Strength for an International Trip

The costs of my trip to South Korea will be taken care of by myself. I come from a well-established family in Uttrakhand, India. Me and my husband run a bakery shop which is called Blissful Bakeries.  Each year, we earn an annual income of INR 20,00,000 from our business. Since it is a shared responsibility of work, I get the time to engage in other professional activities as well. For the last few years, I have been selling handmade jewelry on the e-commerce platform Flipkart. I make an annual income of INR 5,00,000 from this. Owing to my expert crafting skills, I started a jewelry store by the name of Aurelia Jewels in 2022. This too, allows me to make an annual profit of INR 6,00,000. In my current account, I have a balance of INR 12,00,000. Other than this, I have a savings account as well which has INR 8,00,000 in it. The CA valuation certificate will prove that we have property worth INR 2,10,00,000. I also own jewelry whose value can be estimated at INR 20,00,000. I am confident that I will be able to take care of my travel expenses, living costs, tourist activities, or any other unexpected expenditure in South Korea and will not be a financial liability to the country.

Motivation To Return To India

My primary motivation to return to my home country India is to reunite with my family. In my absence, my husband Mr. Bharat Chauhan will be taking care of our daughter Anisha Chauhan. However, my daughter and I share a close mother-daughter bond and are deeply connected to each other. She is my stress buster and my favorite moments are the time that I spend talking to her about various things. Even on this holiday, we will stay in constant touch through calls and I will be eager to reunite with my dear daughter after the conclusion of my trip as well as watch her grow. At the same time, my husband and I are also in a loving marriage and are each other’s strongest pillars of support. I would never prefer to stay away from him for a long time and he too will be awaiting my return.

The second reason for me to return back is my professional duties. My husband and I share work responsibilities/manage different departments and it will be difficult for him to handle work without my contribution. For my jewelry business also, the wedding season is going to approach soon in India which means an increased demand for jewelry. After my return, I have to make preparations for the same. I do not have any family ties in South Korea.

Conclusion

I assure you that I have enclosed all important documents with my application. To restate, the purpose of my short excursion to South Korea is tourism as I want to enjoy some time off and do some touristy activities. I am aware that it will be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the astounding architecture, style, and cultural/regional atmosphere of one of the most developed countries of the world. I hope to live moments and make memories that I will remember for the rest of my life. I have explained the refusal points of my previous visa request to the best of my capability and wholeheartedly wish that you find me worthy of receiving a tourist visa.

Thank you for your time and consideration.

Sincerely

Reena Chauhan
