Subject: Application Requesting A Visitor Visa For the UK After Refusal
Respected Visa Official
Greetings! My name is Sheetal Sinha, a 60-year-old Indian national who lives in Rajasthan. My son Karan Sinha and daughter-in-law Riya Kapoor are settled in the UK permanently and hold an Indefinite Leave to Remain (IRL) visa. This year, they have been blessed with their first son, Kiyaan Sinha. This new addition to our family has brought new joy to us. To experience this happiness firsthand, my son has invited me to join them in the UK for a period of 10 days (10 March 2024 to 19 March 2024). For this reason, I am writing this application in support of my request for a visitor visa to the UK. Here, I must inform you that my previous requests for a visitor visa were rejected on 15th January 2024 for the following reasons-
The stated circumstances in the country of residence, the reasons for your visit, the supporting information provided, and your intended travel arrangements.
Purpose Of Visit
In the past two decades, I have devoted my life as a homemaker to my family. I have always cherished the joys and efficiently managed the challenges of motherhood while raising my two kids- a son and a daughter. I have willingly gone the extra mile to ensure that I am always emotionally available to them and support them in all that they do. Today, both my kids are independent and settled in their lives with their loving partners. My son Karan Sinha has always been ambitious about his career goals. So, in 2018, when he came across an employment opportunity in the UK, he moved to the country. In March 2018, his wife joined him, and since then, they have been living in the UK. They religiously visit us in India every year, and we cherish the time spent as a family. In February, we were thrilled to receive the news of my grandson’s birth, and despite always being connected through audio/video calls and messages, I was excited to hold him in my arms. Sensing my enthusiasm, Karan invited me to join them in the UK as soon as possible and be a part of this joyous occasion. In January 2023, I applied for my first visitor visa request. Unfortunately, in the following 3-4 days, my husband’s health deteriorated, and he passed away on 5th January 2023. This period was tough for me emotionally and physically, and I longed for the company of my family beside me. After the marriage of my daughter and my son’s immigration to the UK, my husband and I were a pillar of support to one another. His demise affects my identity as I now navigate my way forward in life. As I yearned to be with my loved ones, my second request for a visitor visa was rejected as well for understandable reasons. Now, I restate that my sole purpose in applying for a visitor visa for the UK for a duration of 10 days is that, after the unfortunate death of my husband, I want to spend some time with my son, daughter-in-law, and meet my grandson for the first time.
Travel Details And Activity Plan
After visa rejection, I have finalized my travel period from 10 March 2024 to 19 March 2024. In this 10-day period, my only priority will be to spend time with my kids as we all talk to our heart’s content, ponder upon the sweet memories of my late husband, and help in looking after the newborn baby in the family. If time and weather permit, we would prefer to go to some popular tourist attractions like Buckingham Palace, the Tower of London, gardens and parks, sightseeing tours, etc. I will be accommodating at my son’s place, which is 27th Green’s Avenue, Manchester, UK, EW3 7YE.
Financial Details
My son and daughter-in-law have willingly decided to sponsor my entire trip to the UK. They will be taking care of expenses related to travel fare, food, accommodation, lifestyle, and other unexpected expenditures. My son Karan Khanna works with UK XLS Ltd. and makes an annual income of GBP 80000. My daughter-in-law is a Software Engineer with Talisman Pvt. Ltd. and earns GBP 76000 per year. They have both committed GBP 3000 each towards my trip. While I have GBP 4000 (SBI savings account) in my personal savings, I plan on using GBP 2500 on my visit to the UK. Although I am unemployed, we have various assets in the form of properties, gold ornaments, and investments that are worth INR 78,98,000. While they may formally be in the name of my children, they can be considered to be in my ownership as I maintain them here in India. Kindly find attached the net worth certificate that I have provided along with this application.
Here, I would like to address the concern raised in my refusal letter, stating that despite having no source of income for myself, I have shown GBP 3,451 in my SBI account, and the statement shows that I have held the amount for 2 months only. Also, I positively acknowledge the point that I am reliant on my UK sponsor (son Karan Khanna) for my day-to-day living costs, and he is the one who deposited the said amount into my account. As per the social norms in India and practices of earlier times, many females like me are dependent on their husbands and children financially. In contrast, I have spent a major portion of my life taking care of the everyday needs and demands of my family. I have always led a comfortable life and have, god forbid, never experienced any sort of monetary dearth. My son, out of his wish and duty, sends me money for my needs in India. I assure you that with the currently available resources and financial strength from the assets that we own, I am eligible to afford a 10-day stay in the UK. I promise not to be a financial liability to the government of the UK under any situation whatsoever.
Reasons To Return Home
India is my home country and I am determined to return back after concluding my short trip to the UK. The factors that encourage me to do so are my strong family connections here, favorable weather conditions, and overseeing of our family assets. The relations that I am particularly close to are my daughter Komal Khanna, who is married and lives with their husband and in-laws. I share a close bond with them as they look up to me for guidance in their lives and visit me regularly. I also have two brothers and a sister who ensure my well-being from time to time. We visit one another on a frequent basis as I seek emotional and mental support in these relationships. The house that I live in is quite dear to me as it holds memories of my husband and my children’s childhood. Also, considering my physical health, I am not very comfortable in a harsh, cold climate and would thus not prefer to live in the UK for any prolonged period of time. Having grown up here, I look forward to returning to the comfort of my home country after spending some precious time with my son’s family in the UK.
As I come to conclude my explanation letter, I reiterate that my sole intent in visiting the UK for a few days is to meet my son, daughter-in-law, and grandson. This visit holds great personal and emotional relevance to me as it will allow me to reunite with my loved ones. The quality time and moments that I will spend with them are some things that I will cherish for the rest of my life. Lastly, as I thank you for your time and consideration of this application, I assure you that I will forever be grateful to you for giving me the coveted opportunity to visit my family and thus ardently hope for a positive response.
Sincerely
Sheetal Sinha
