I, Vikas Chauhan, find myself fortunate to have been allowed to present my case once again and reinstate my purpose of studying in Canada. I am a passionate professional aiming to make a career in business and administration. Hence, I am strongly intending to acquire formal training in business from a global perspective. Therefore, I have decided to pursue a Post Degree Diploma in Business Administration at York University in Canada. I have also received a Letter of Admission for the September 2022 intake but unfortunately, my study permit got rejected due to the following grounds:

Purpose of Visit
Embarking on my journey to Canada is a heartfelt endeavor, driven by my passion for business studies and a longing for valuable international experience. As I reflect on my graduate-level education, I yearn for more profound insights to attract remarkable career opportunities. My aspiration is not just to secure employment in India but to transition from sales to the realms of direct business management and marketing. This calls for formal training beyond my current qualifications.
Academic and professional record
I completed my secondary school with 87% in 2014 and senior secondary school with 71% in 2016. Post-schooling, owing to my fascination with business, I enrolled in the Bachelor of Business Administration and passed the same in 2021 with a CGPA of 7.8. My academic excellence has been the precursor of growth for me in these two years of my professional life. While pursuing my bachelor’s degree, I joined College Vidya Education as an Intern in the sales division in September 2019. Due to my passionate approach, I was able to continue here as a Sales Executive until May 2020. I utilized my learned experiences in sales and communication with customers to fetch another great opportunity for me at Shiksha Limited in May 2020 where I served as a sales manager until October 2020. It acted as another feather in my cap and I was able to embrace the role of Business Development Associate at IDP Education and perform a level above my counterparts. Since February 2021, I have been working here as a full-time employee. I am extremely satisfied with my career progression in terms of learning but to be able to rise a ladder above, I need more polishing and exposure in terms of technical understanding of how businesses operate internationally. Therefore, I have decided to upskill myself with a brand-new course in business administration from Canada. Although I have studied more or similar modules in my previous academics, I couldn’t get enough exposure due to our limited curriculum and emphasis on practical learning. Since I have a farsighted dream of becoming an entrepreneur, I strongly believe that I will need a strong technical understanding of business administration that I can gain in Canada.
Why Canada and not India?
In my quest for personal and professional growth, I have set my sights on studying in Canada to elevate my skills in leadership, management, and entrepreneurship. While I already hold a graduate-level business management qualification from India, pursuing a similar diploma course there seems redundant. Reasons to return to India
Future plans
Upon completing this course, my aspiration is to transition from education to the dynamic corporate industry and seize senior management positions. After returning home, I aim to serve in managerial roles at the renowned MNCs in India. These include Accenture, KPMG, Deloitte, E&Y, etc that have flourishing businesses in my home country. This exposure will help me in preparing myself for the long-envisioned goal of becoming an entrepreneur in the future. Looking ahead, I dream of establishing my own successful business and amassing wealth to secure my family’s financial future. This lifelong journey in the business realm would be a dream come true. The knowledge gained from York University will be a significant asset, unlocking career opportunities that would otherwise remain inaccessible. Through my independent venture, I aim to contribute to the country’s economic growth, tapping into potential opportunities driven by traditional savings practices. With confidence, I foresee promising prospects awaiting me in the flourishing business landscape of India.
Family ties
I belong to a close-knit family, and I share a very close bond with my parents. My father is a businessman, and my mother is a teacher. My life has been fulfilled due to my parents, who have worked hard day and night to give me the most comfortable life and upbringing. Because of their unwavering confidence in me, they have also come forward to sponsor my further education in Canada. I can never forget their love and gestures toward me, and I feel deeply grateful to be associated with such loving parents. As I am the only son and heir to my family, I am determined to return home within the stipulated period. My parents will need me to be with them as they grow old, and it is my duty to take care of them, no matter what. Responsible stewardship of our family assets and preserving our age-old ties hold great importance to me.
In Canada, I do not have any family ties that would bind me to stay there after achieving my study goals. Home is where my heart and my loved ones are, and I eagerly anticipate reuniting with them and embracing the loving and caring environment that is an integral part of my life.
Level of establishment and ability to fund education
My family has worked hard to accumulate assets, including CAD 370,259 in movable and immovable property, and holds CAD 49,726 in liquid assets. With an annual income of CAD 23,945, they have generously sponsored my education in Canada. Additionally, I secured an education loan of CAD 12,977 from <add bank name> to further support my studies.
To cover my educational and living expenses, I have already paid a tuition fee of CAD 14,790 and placed CAD 12,000 in a GIC account. I am grateful for my family’s constant support, and they have sufficient savings to back me up during my time in Canada. I have attached proof of payment and my family’s financial details for your reference and review. Their unwavering commitment has allowed me this opportunity to pursue my dreams, and I am determined to make the most of it.
Language proficiency
To fulfill language eligibility criteria, I have taken the IELTS examination with an overall score of bands 7.5 (6.5 Reading: 7.0, Speaking: 7.5, Writing: 6.0, Listening: 9.0). Please, find the IELTS transcript enclosed with this application.
