Below is the Sample SOP for Masters in Management in UK

My stimulation towards Management started when I was entrusted to be the  Head Lead for one of the biggest annual exhibitions, “FH 2.0 (Food Ingredient & Health Ingredient, 2019” held at the India Expo Center, Pragati Maidan, Delhi. Working as the Head Lead in the main lounge ‘Customer Services Lounge’, I got an opportunity to interact with over +1000 exhibitors from all around the world, displaying their best products.  At the same time, I engaged with over +500 visitors each day until the exhibition lasted. Interacting with them and understanding their expectations, while also explaining to them the advantage of this event, and how they can source all the latest global and innovative ingredients, filled me with a lot of confidence to manage clients and customers.  At the same time, I realized such exhibitions proffer a large and profitable way for food suppliers and buyers worldwide, making me realize the penetration of Management and its subsequent outcomes.

Owing to the success of this one, I participated in three more, namely, the Delhi Expo Jewellery Fair, Global Investors Summit, and Excel Future Leaders Conference, held in 2020 in Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, India. Each of these filled me with the same sense of satisfaction and happiness about learning about business and the way it is managed. Hence, at this juncture where I have understood the significance of Management, through my work experience also, I want to obtain unifocal learning of Management and touch the learning arch.

Although I have completed my under degree in Architecture, through my internships and my current employment, I have continued to feel the importance of management in this realm too.    I am working at Achievers Pvt. Ltd, Gurugram as a Junior Interior Architect, where my responsibilities entail the development of Conceptual Drawings, Working drawings, Presentation drawings, and 3D views on Autocad, Photoshop, PowerPoint, and SketchUp for many esteemed clients. Some of the projects include Ujjwal Hotel, Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh ( hospitality), Krishna Hotels, Varanasi, Uttar Pradesh (hospitality), Alaknanda Residence, Shimla, Himachal Pradesh (residential), Skyscraper Walks, Noida, Uttar Pradesh, (commercial), and Excel Center, Malviya Nagar, New Delhi (commercial). I am also responsible for optimizing social media content for all platforms. Doing these, I realized how management, even though intangible, produces profitable results, such as meeting timelines and procuring raw materials. I thoroughly studied and observed the ways in which management was omnipresent through my projects.

Right from coordinating with the consultants and contractor windows to clients and brand, I developed credibility as I polished my technical communication coordination skills altogether. What further strengthened my interest was a vital opportunity to be part of the concept and coordination development in design with the Ashwin Pvt. Ltd. designer director, design, and technical service head at the national level. This was an encouragement proffered to me by the Principal Architect among other tenured professionals.

Moved with this, when I began working with Ujjwal Hotel, Bhopal,  I presented my entire concept presentation to the Ujjwal Hotel management and design team at the national level. During my several visits to Bhopal, I perceived the business marketing and design sectors altogether.  That was when I was spurred further towards business development through social media platforms and meeting new clients, and fixing designs with them. This has enhanced my acumen in negotiating and closing deals, whilst explaining the profit-making strategies.

Earlier, during the undergraduate course in I studied “professional practice”, a subject that showcased the right methodologies and practical approach towards handling client requirements, executing work in a properly planned time channel, delivering completion of projects to/ client satisfaction. Moreover, in the final year, I worked on a thesis subject that was judiciously chosen as it was bent toward business and marketing, along with architecture.  This was titled “Exotique Constructions,” where I encompassed retail experience and learned about consumer behavior. To complete this, I referred to several research papers on retail marketing, shopping malls, and consumer behavior in the retail sector that helped me analyze my designs and align them with consumer psychology and branding requirements. This experience was enthralling as I learned how management is a perspective and that even nitty-gritty details are equally pertinent while making decisions and implementing plans.

During the same phase, I also worked as an intern at an architecture firm, “Raisinghania Enterprises. This is a cardinal part, as this was the first exposure to the corporate world, showcasing the ways designs and techniques are done according to the market. This also entailed decision-making, a vital part of management.

At this point, having gained comprehensive learning, I only find my academic involvement amiss. Hence, an MS in Management will be imperative in understanding strategies from a bird’s-eye view. I want to be dexterous and take this to another level after completing my MS by working as a Project manager in a reputed company. Later, after a  few years of gaining relevant experience, I envision working as an entrepreneur and managing various spheres.

I see this being fulfilled at St. Xavier’s Business School, . Besides the university, I am interested in being in the UK, as it provides world-class education in all spheres, especially in the Management realm. At St. Xavier’s Business School, I want to study subjects like Change Management, Global, Creative Industries, Project Management in Business Analysis, Strategic Management as Practice, and Sustainable knowledge-based business. The esteemed professors will supplement my knowledge manifold, taking me closer to my goals.

Besides being active in academics and learning from that, I have also learned from other extracurricular activities. I am a classical Kathak dancer and have participated in various group dance competitions since school until now. I have also volunteered for an NGO called  Sheeksha in Saket, New Delhi. This is an NGO for girls where I worked for their upliftment through education. Other than this, I have also volunteered for other social service communities to provide food distribution programs among the rag pickers during festival time, such as Dussehra and Diwali.

It will be a privilege to be a part of your university and learn about management and its penetration, including digital media. I am looking forward to joining the student fraternity and enjoying different perspectives, diversity, and culture.
